Guillaume Foucaud

Epicurean at heart, Guillaume Foucaud has built an international career spanning over fifteen years at the crossroads of taste culture, premium brand development, and traditional craftsmanship. Deeply human-centered, he has always been

less interested in products themselves than in the people behind them — the knowledge passed down, the time required, and the precision that gives things their true meaning.

In September 2005, during a week-long training program in Bordeaux, an encounter proved decisive. In Saint-Émilion,

François Mitjavile introduced him to blind tasting of grand cru wines, not as a technical exercise, but as a fully immersive sensory experience.

Beyond the tastings, shared moments around the best of French gastronomy — foie gras, truffles, dry-aged côte de bœuf, forgotten vegetables — revealed a simple truth: emotion and coherence give things their true value. It was there that he understood what he truly loved: pleasure as experience.

A long-time cigar enthusiast and passionate about high-end rums, Guillaume has developed an intimate relationship with products of character — their origins, their stories, and the precision of their making. This sensibility has shaped his professional choices, from premium grocery distribution to the import and distribution of fine wines, as well as the creation and operation of a bistronomic restaurant in Brussels, conceived as a place of encounter between artisans, products, and discerning enthusiasts.

In 2009, a second encounter marked a decisive turning point. Alongside Didier Houvenaghel, tasting cigars became a revelation. The cigar ceased to be a cold, status-driven object and instead revealed itself as a sensual, complex, and living experience, shaped by time, attention, and intent.

This approach permanently redefined his relationship with cigars and what they could convey. His career has led him to found and lead several human-scale businesses in the worlds of premium, gastronomy, and luxury, while also holding senior management roles within major international groups, where he helped drive a qualitative move upscale in offerings, brands, and experiences. Moving between Europe and Asia, he navigates with equal ease highly structured

multinational environments and independent organizations, where precision and authenticity prevail over standardization.

In this spirit, the cigars of DH Boutique Cigars represent far more than a product. They are a genuine opportunity, grounded in a deep and sincere belief in what he does — a rare pause, a singular experience in which time slows down.

Seeing the eyes of the enthusiast — and even more so of the professional — light up at the discovery of a story, a terroir, or a blend is where his work finds its true meaning. The cigar then ceases to be an object and becomes a vehicle for culture, transmission, and shared emotion.

For him, true value lies in sharing time and passion with people and the things that matter.
